3-Day Chimpanzee & Gorilla Safari in Uganda

This incredible 3-day safari takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park for chimpanzee tracking and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience. Encounter diverse wildlife, stunning landscapes, and Uganda’s rich biodiversity as you track chimpanzees in Kalinzu Forest and mountain gorillas in Bwindi.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from Entebbe/Kampala. Enjoy the scenic drive through Uganda’s countryside, passing bustling markets, villages, and herds of Ankole Longhorn cattle.

Arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park in the evening, where you can relax and enjoy breathtaking views of Kazinga Channel, home to an array of wildlife.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking & Drive to Bwindi

Start your morning with an exciting chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kalinzu Forest. With around 70 habituated chimpanzees, you’ll listen for their calls and watch them interact in their natural habitat.

After this thrilling experience, embark on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to Uganda’s famous mountain gorillas. Along the way, take in the stunning landscapes of Southwestern Uganda.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Today marks the highlight of your safari—gorilla tracking in Bwindi. Led by experienced rangers, you will search for one of the seven habituated gorilla families. The trek can take several hours, depending on the gorillas’ location, but the reward is an unforgettable one-hour encounter with these gentle giants.

After the trek, drive to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most scenic lakes, where you can relax and unwind.
