This 3-day adventure takes you to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and oldest national park, famous for its dramatic waterfalls where the Nile squeezes through a 7-meter-wide gorge. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hyenas, and several antelope species.
En route to Murchison Falls, you’ll make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can track wild rhinos on foot. This well-protected sanctuary is dedicated to the conservation and breeding of rhinos.
Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your accommodation or the airport. Enjoy the scenic drive through Uganda’s countryside, observing daily life along the way.
Midway, stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an unforgettable rhino tracking experience. Accompanied by a ranger, you will walk quietly through the bush to observe these endangered giants up close. The sanctuary has successfully bred over 25 rhinos and plays a key role in rhino conservation.
After this unique experience, continue to Murchison Falls National Park. Arriving in the afternoon, embark on your first game drive, where you might spot zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and predators like lions and hyenas.
Start the day with an early morning game drive, when temperatures are cool, and wildlife is most active. You’ll have the opportunity to see lions, hyenas, leopards, jackals, and various antelope species. Keep your camera ready for the stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife.
In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise on the Nile, offering a unique perspective of the park’s wildlife. As you sail upstream towards Murchison Falls, watch for hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous water birds cooling off along the riverbanks.
Begin the day with a guided hike to the top of Murchison Falls, offering breathtaking views of the roaring waterfall. Experience the sheer force of the Nile as it crashes through the narrow gorge, creating a misty spectacle. The hike involves some steep sections but is well worth the effort for the panoramic views.
After soaking in the scenery, drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, marking the end of your safari.
